Details of Sultan Bin Ali Owais Cultural Foundation

The poet, sultan Bin Ali Al Owais, established a permanent award bearing his name on December seventeen, 1987, with the aim of honouring, encouraging and supporting Arab students, litterateurs and intellectuals. The UAE Writers Association recognised the recently born Award and supervised the appointment of its 1st General Secretariat. But, in 1992 the Award developed into an autonomous cultural foundation beneath the name sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Foundation and have become an official foundation bearing constant name by the virtue of Emiri Decree No. 4 dated March twenty one, 1994 issued by H. H. sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vp and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai.
