Dubai Insurance Company was the first local Insurance Company to be formed in the UAE when it was incorporated in 1970 as a Public Shareholding Company. Thus, we mark 45 years since its formation by Decree of His Highness, Sheikh Rashid Al Makhtoum. This year premium written by Dubai Insurance is well on its way to reach AED 350 mm in 2015. Even more notable since just a decade ago its gross written premium was under AED 20 mm. Further, despite such steep growth Dubai Insurance remains among the top performers in terms of underwriting profitability.
