It was 1917, and the recently created revolving oil boring system brought on a blast in the oil patch at Sour Lake, Humble and Goose Creek. Towns topped with roughnecks sprang off overnight as individuals raced to collect the dark gold which lay under the Gulf Coast marshlands of Texas. On April 10 that year, individuals from the Pearce family, who were smithies and mechanical engineers, pooled their capacities, money, hardware and information to establish Texas Iron Works. An office was set up in Houston and the main machine shop opened in Goose Creek, which is presently part of the advanced refining and steel focus called Baytown.TIW History At first, TIW started operations as a general oilfield repair office. After a short time, Drillers would drop by and say, "On the off chance that I had an apparatus that would do this it would truly help." As more demands came in for new instrument developments, it began an indispensable path for working together at TIW: listen to the client and do everything conceivable to address their issues.
